What can I expect during my first appointment?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and begin identifying your goals. You only need to share what you feel ready to share. Building trust and rapport takes time, and the first few sessions are an opportunity for us to get to know each other and develop a foundation for our work together. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.
Who do you work with?
Elevate Mental Health and Wellness provides counseling for adults and young adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns and life challenges.
What types of concerns can therapy help with?
We work with a wide range of mental health concerns and life experiences, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, addiction and substance abuse, sleep problems, work-related stress, and life transitions. We also support individuals living with more complex mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other serious mental health concerns. Treatment is tailored to each person's needs, goals, and circumstances.
What is your approach to therapy?
Our approach combines evidence-based therapies with mindfulness and a whole-person perspective. Depending on your needs and goals, treatment may incorporate:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Identifying and changing unhelpful thought and behavior patterns.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Building psychological flexibility and taking steps guided by your values.
- DBT-Informed Skills: Developing emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills.
- Person-Centered Therapy: Creating a supportive, collaborative space where your experiences and goals guide the work.
- Mindfulness-Based Interventions: Strengthening present-moment awareness and coping with difficult emotions.
- Trauma-Informed Approaches: Supporting safety, understanding, and healing following difficult experiences.
Your treatment will be individualized, and we'll work together to determine which approaches best fit your needs.
How long does therapy last?
Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people benefit from short-term support, while others find that longer-term therapy is helpful. The length of treatment depends on your goals, the concerns you're working through, and your individual circumstances. We'll check in on progress together and adjust the plan as needed.
How often will I attend therapy?
Many clients begin with weekly sessions, though frequency depends on your needs, goals, availability, and treatment plan. We'll discuss what works best for you.
What if I'm nervous about starting therapy?
That's completely understandable. Reaching out can feel like a big step. You don't need to know exactly what to say or where to begin. We'll take things one step at a time.
Do you accept insurance?
